Summer Treble Choral Festival
Chorus Angelicus, the premier youth choir in Northwest Connecticut, presents its Summer Treble Choral Festival closing concert. This exciting musical show will be held in Winsted’s amazing American Mural Project on Friday August 5 at 7:00 o’clock in the evening. Chorus Angelicus conductors Gabriel Löfvall and Andrew Skinner will lead the performance.
The show will celebrate American ingenuity through songs and poems that will acquire a new meaning when performed in front of the impressive, colorful American mural. Some showcased composers and poets will include Aaron Copland, Moses Hogan, Langston Hughes, Paul Simon, and Walt Whitman.
In addition to classical choral numbers, the concluding performance will also include some novel guest artists, such as Theresa Thomason, a celebrated gospel singer who makes audiences get up and out of their seats clapping their hands, and the Brooklyn-based band Miss Milo. Miss Milo is a group led by Chorus Angelicus alumna Micaela Bottari that mixes “80s rock synth and hip hop drums with Micaela's sultry vocals for a sound that's classic but also current and surprising.” Participants in the Summer Choral Festival will be exposed to a vast array of musical styles and techniques while collaborating with these unique artists!
Come share with us the joy of music making with these talented choristers and guest artists! You will leave the American Mural Project space energized and motivated.
Friday August 5 at 7:00 o’clock in the evening, at the American Mural Project, 90 Whiting Road, Winsted, Connecticut.
